Abel Tasman Sea Kayaking

Let our friendly Guides introduce you to the Abel Tasman National Park with some of the best sea kayaking territory in New Zealand, basking in the most sunshine hours in the country - year round. Kayak with the seals on our Beaches, Bays & Seals Day Trip.

Departures from Kaiteriteri with bus connections to Motueka, Nelson and Marahau.

We provide all technical and safety gear, including full instructions and safety briefing. Follow your Guide's instructions to make the most of your day and enjoy safe, fun sea kayaking on the wondrous Abel Tasman coastline.

Protected from most weather, the Abel Tasman coast is renowned for clear azure waters, golden-sand beaches fringed by native forest, hidden coves and spectacularly carved granite headlands. The coast is home to many sea birds, including the Little Blue Penguin. New Zealand Fur Seals breed on the islands close to shore. Dolphins visit the idyllic coast, perhaps on the same day as you.

Although the coast in renowned for settled weather, it is impossible to guarantee conditions. It might be necessary to paddle against the wind to the nearest beach. We use double kayaks for their stability and the advantage of having two people sharing the paddling effort.
