Azure waters and native forest groves; the best of both.
Why travel with the Wilsons?
- As direct descendants of the first European settlers to Nelson, we have been in the Abel Tasman region for 8 generations so we know to show you the best of The Park. Our team will share its best kept secrets with you.
- Full back-up from our scheduled boat services included in all trips.
- Safety, fun and comfort and are our priority.
- A Qualmark endorsed visitor activity.
- Winners of the prestigous Qualmark "Mark of Quality" award at the NZ Tourism Awards 2006.
- Choose an easy paddle at the Southern end of The Park, or explore the best territory in the heart of The Park.
- Choose from a few hours or a few days paddling.
- Coach transfers to and from Nelson/Motueka available.
- No previous sea kayaking experience necessary.
- We give full instruction and use stable, double kayaks.
- The first company to obtain a Department of Conservation (DOC) Concession and Marine Mammal Watching permit in the park.
- All guides are SKOANZ (Sea Kayak Operators Association of New Zealand) qualified or international equivalent and operate to their strict safety guidelines.
When sea and weather conditions are calm, sea kayaking is easy and very little skill is required. The Abel Tasman is renowned for its protected coast but it is impossible to guarantee calm conditions.
Our Guides provide full training. If their instructions are followed, kayaking is safe and fun. If you are not enjoying the experience, you are welcome to join the walking group or travel on one of our boats.
Choose a trip to suit you:
2 Day Kayak Trip A great introduction to kayaking the Abel Tasman in comfort.
3 Day Kayak & Walk Trip Two days kayaking the protected southern coastline and one day walking the lush Abel Tasman Coast Track.
5 Day Kayak & Walk Trip The ultimate adventure: two days kayaking and one day walking with 2 extra days at each of our Beachfront Lodges. Spend those extra days relaxing or exploring parts of the Park many visitors don't get to see.
