What to Do with Only One Day in Paradise?
Take a day trip or half-day trip with us.
If you have a few minutes or a few hours, our Vista Cruise and Vigour Water Taxi can transport you to the walk of your choice. Golden sand beaches, native forest, spectacular coastal views and swimming opportunities in calm, azure waters feature on every walk in Abel Tasman National Park.
Departures from Kaiteriteri with bus connections to Motueka, Nelson and Marahau.
With 3 Vista Cruise sailings and one Vigour Water Taxi sailings per day (October to April), you can enjoy a Cruise and Walk in the morning or afternoon. Our boats operate year-round, on a reduced timetable April to September.

Northern and Extended Cruise & Walk
Cruise the length of the spectacular coast from Kaiteriteri to Totaranui. Choose the walk to suit you in the centre of the Park, then return on the boat.

Cruise into the National Park to Torrent Bay or further to Tonga Island Marine Reserve and Onetahuti Bay. Take the walk of your choice before taking the boat out of the Park.

How To Book
Lunch
Light meals, and hot and cold drinks are available to buy aboard our Vista launch cruise. There are no shops in the National Park. If you don't want to eat from our delicious onboard menu (the aromas will tempt you), you can take your own lunch or order a scrumptious picnic lunch from us by 6pm the day before your trip.
Our Dine & Stride option allows time ashore for you to purchase your lunch at Awaroa Lodge and Cafe.

- From 3-9 hours in Abel Tasman National Park. Choose boat departures to suit your schedule.
- Walk any section from Totaranui to Marahau.
- Choose bush and/or beach walking from 30 minutes to 6 hours, or simply laze on a golden sand beach, ideal for swimming.
- Start your National Park Cruise and Walk at Kaiteriteri.
- Coach transfers available from/to Nelson, Motueka and Marahau.

Walking time: 1hr 30mins (4 kms) from Awaroa to Tonga Beach (Onetahuti) or stayput at Awaroa
Time ashore: from 2hrs 30mins to 3hrs 50mins
If you want more than a picnic, cruise to Awaroa Bay. A short walk takes you to the Lodge & Cafe for lunch. (Lunch at own cost). Afterwards, enjoy a 1hr 45min walk to Tonga Beach (check times for tidal crossing at Onetahuti) or take a stroll along the Awaroa beach front. Details...
The Great Day Out

Walking time: 3hrs 30mins (11.5 kms) Anchorage to Marahau
Cruise from Kaiteriteri the length of the spectacular Abel Tasman Coast to Totaranui, then return to the golden expanse of Anchorage. Walk out to Marahau (3.5 to 4 hours). Coach transfers available between Marahau, Kaiteriteri, Motueka and Nelson. Details...

EXTENDED SOUTHERN CRUISE & WALK
Choose a Southern Cruise and Walk (options below) staying aboard the boat as it cruises into the northern reaches of the park to Tonga Island Marine Reserve with its resident Fur Seal Colony.
Disembark on the return journey for your chosen walk and pick up a later boat to return to Kaiteriteri.

Time ashore: 1hr 45mins to 6hrs 45mins
Choose optional walking or laze on the golden sands, swim, sunbath or relax in the shade of native forest. Cruise to Medlands drop off and walk 10 minutes to Bark Bay beach. Walk around the stunning estuary to Bark Bay Falls (approx 1 hour) and return for your pick up at Medlands Beach. Details...

Cruise to the golden expanse of Anchorage Bay then take a walk on the sand, swim in the calm azure waters or take a stroll to picturesque Te Pukatea Bay (approx 30 min) and return. Experience our favourite part of the Park. Cruise to Medlands Beach - Bark Bay and walk to Anchorage through lush native forest with views over estuaries and bays. Cross the Swing Bridge at Falls River and take a short side track to visit Cleopatra's Pool behind the Torrent Bay Estuary.
