Nelson, a quaint town towards the top of the South Island, is dubbed New Zealand’s sunshine capital. The Nelson-Marlborough region at the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island offers a visitor three of the most appealing aspects of the country – nature at its best in the Abel Tasman Park and Marlborough Sounds, wine and food in the country’s premier wine region of Marlborough, and a progressive artistic / cultural spirit for which Nelson is well known.

New Zealand has a reputation for being the home of extreme adventures, but there's plenty to do there if you're not that courageous.I did a two-day trip with Wilson's which included a cruise up to Totaranui, guided walks along the coast, an overnight stay at the Meadowbank homestead - a replica of the Wilson's original family home - and kayaking.
