Full Day Kayak Trip

Beaches, Bays & Seals

  • Cruise into the heart of the park at Torrent Bay
  • See seals from your kayak
  • Try kayak sailing (weather permitting)
  • Explore lagoons and secluded beaches along the forested granite coast
  • Total 2.5 hours kayak paddling with a break for lunch on a golden beach.
  • Time for a walk around the Torrent Bay tidal lagoon (2 hours) during the longer daylight hours of summer (20 October to 31 March)

Half Day Kayak Trips

Can be combined with walking options for a full day in the National Park.

SPLIT APPLE PADDLE – morning or afternoon

  • Less than 2 hours kayak paddling,
  • Explore the spectacular Kaiteriteri coast to to see famous Split Apple Rock formation.

Add a walking option:
See seals from the boat on Tonga Island and/or Adele Island

ADELE ISLAND BIRDSONG & SEALS - morning recommended

  • More to see with less paddling effort (2 hours) than a full day trip.
  • See seals from your kayak
  • Listen to the birdsong from Adele Island wildlife reserve

Kaiteriteri Highlights - afternoon

  • Ideal for families and first-time kayakers.
  • Approximately 1 hour kayak paddling (plus full instructions)
  • Explore the sheltered waters of New Zealand's favourite holiday beach.
  • Time to relax on the beach in the morning, or explore other attractions in the region.

Do you want to view seals from your kayak?
A short Vista Cruise boat transfer is required to travel into the National Park where seal colonies are established on islands off the coast. Vista Cruise return to Kaiteriteri is included.

Sea Kayak safety regulations require a Private Guide for children under 8 years old.
