Let us show you the best of New Zealand's finest coastal National Park with walks from 30 minutes to a 5 Day hike, staying at beachfront lodges within the park.
Basking under the most sunshine hours in the country, the Abel Tasman Coast Track is mostly shaded by lush native forest. Short sections traverse golden, sandy beaches with sheltered azure water, ideal for swimming.
The track is managed and maintained to New Zealand Great Walk standard by the Department of Conservation (DOC). There is no point higher than 200 metres (650 feet) and heavy hiking boots are not necessary.
Following the spectacular coast, there are some inlets with tidal crossings. See Tidal Crossings for more details.
Marahau to Totaranui is 38 kms (24 miles). This part of the coast is accessible by boat so you can choose to walk sections of the track with boat transfers into and out of the park.
