Abel Tasman National Park enjoys some of the best weather in the country. With mild temperatures, the evergreen forest, golden beaches and sculpted headlands beckon throughout the year.

Our Department of Conservation takes care of the national park, preserving it as a wilderness area. You will find the track is well maintained and easy to follow with signage kept to a minimum.

To really escape, revive and reconnect with details of accommodation, food, transport options, weather and tides taken care of, join a Wilsons Abel Tasman all-inclusive Multiday Trip with start and finish in Nelson.

Use our easy trip finder to discover Day Trips from 2 to 9 hours duration with beach stop, walking and guided sea kayaking options.

If you choose to organise your own trip, there are no roads or shops in the park. Book accommodation and sea kayaking before you enter the park. Be prepared to plan your days around the tides. Walking some sections is not possible at high tide and some inlets are not accessible by kayak at low tide.

Be prepared to have the best time in New Zealand's finest coastal national park.
