Our Boats

The scheduled Vista Cruise ferry service is operated on our two vessels, Abel Tasman Voyager and Vista II. With daily departures, they support our full range of trips – sightseeing cruises, walking and kayaking.

The Vista Cruise catamarans are also available to charter for special events outside scheduled sailing times and the Vigour Water Taxi is available for small group charters.

Kayak trips operate with our modern kayak fleet, complete with all the accessories required for a safe, comfortable time on the water.

Abel Tasman Voyager

Our flagship sets the standard for water transport in the Abel Tasman National Park, operating on our scheduled Vista Cruise sailings and special charters.

Travel in style and comfort in the spacious cabin with its café & bar, or enjoy fresh air and spectacular views from the upper and lower viewing decks.

• Length: 22 metres

• Capacity: 140 passengers

• Kevlar/fibreglass/foam composite hull provides strength and stability with reduced weight and wash, resulting in better fuel economy and environmental impact

• Hyundai L-500, 12.7 litre engines provide 500hp@1800rpm

• Speeds up to 20 knots (37 km/h) allow for three sailings per day

• Bow loading ramps for comfortable transfers with less impact on shallow tidal beaches

Vista II

We searched the world for a boat with the right comfort, performance and technical requirements for our Vista Cruise service.

During June and July 2023 the Vista II was extended by 2.5

 metres and engines were replaced for 20% improved fuel efficiency and passenger comfort.

• Length: 22.5 metres

• Capacity: 97 passengers plus crew

• Hull: fibreglass, Kevlar and carbon fibre composite.

• Operates at 16-24 knots (30-45 km/h) giving a smooth comfortable ride

Vigour Water Taxi 

Our water taxi is a fun, flexible way to get where you want to go along the Abel Tasman coast.

The purpose-built Osprey pontoon, Matangi, is 7.5 metres long and seats 19 passengers with room for packs and equipment.
