From Tōtaranui, at 11.20am take the Vista Cruise to historic Awaroa Inlet, arrive 11.35am. From here you can relax or choose a walking option.
Stay Put Option
You choose your style of lunch:
- Take a picnic to enjoy on the beach, and explore the inlet.
- Book lunch at the Awaroa Lodge restaurant. This property is not owned by us and is closed during low season. Please contact them to confirm lunch options and availability (phone 03 528 8758).
- Pick up at Awaroa 2.20pm to return to Tōtaranui at 2.40pm
Walk Option
From Awaroa, walk over a forested saddle and along the spectacular golden sands of Onetahuti Beach for pick up at Tonga Quarry 2.05pm and return to Tōtaranui at 2.40pm.
6km (3.5 miles) maximum elevation 85m (280ft).
