To assist you to understand how you are helping us to preserve our unique environment for future generations, from 1 October 2021 the Environmental Access Fee (EAF) is itemised in your day trip fares. The fee includes these elements:
- Kaiteriteri and Abel Tasman Foreshore Fee: compulsory fees for beach access to maintain amenities and support environmental protection projects.
- Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust: our voluntary contribution to the local environmental charitable trust that we helped to established in 2007.
- Carbon Offset: we purchase Ekos carbon credits that directly support the growth and protection of indigenous forests to provide bio-diverse and climate resilient landscapes.
The Environmental Access Fee ($5-10 per adult) will be shown in the booking calculation for all Day Trip return journeys. The fee is included in our multiday lodge-based trips, and one-way boat fares.
