After your Adele Island paddle, take a short cruise and then relax or explore Anchorage Beach.

Cruise from Kaiteriteri into the sheltered waters of the Astrolabe Roadstead, pausing for photographs at Split Apple Rock.
On the golden sands of picturesque Observation Beach, your Guide introduces you to kayaking with full training and safety brief. Then paddle around Adele Island wildlife sanctuary, home to seals, penguins and birds, including one of New Zealand’s rarest birds, the South Island Saddleback.
Return to Observation Cove to rejoin the Vista Cruise to Anchorage Beach where you can relax or walk the Pitt Head Loop to picturesque Te Pukata Bay before returning to Anchorage to pick up the Vista Cruise and return to Kaiteriteri.

9.00 am Check in at our Kaiteriteri ticket booth.
9.20 am Join our Vista Cruise at Kaiteriteri to cruise into the protected waters of the Astrolabe Roadstead.
9.40 am Disembark at Observation Beach where your friendly, expert Guide settles you into a stable double kayak with full instructions and safety brief. Then, it's onto the water to explore and have fun. Paddle to Adele Island, a predator-free sanctuary, ringing with birdsong. The island is home to seals, penguins and birds, including one of New Zealand's rarest birds, the South Island Saddleback (Tieke). Explore the coast of Adele Island, then return to Observation Beach.
1.00 pm Join our Vista Cruise at Kaiteriteri to cruise the protected waters of the Astrolabe Roadstead to Anchorage Beach.
1.30 pm disembark on the long golden sands of Anchorage Beach. A short walk takes you to the facilities of the Dept. of Conservation Hut and campsite where there is shelter, picnic tables, filtered drinking water and modern toilets. Maps at the hut show directions for the Pitt Head Loop Walk (4 kms) where you will see panoramic coastal views on the track to Te Pukatea Bay, one of the most picturesque bays in the Park. Return to Anchorage Beach for your pick up.
2.00, 3.25 or *5.20 pm: Vista Cruise departs Anchorage.
2.40, 4.10 or *6.00 pm: Return to Kaiteriteri

To make the earlier return, it is best to walk direct to Te Pukatea Bay (2 kms) instead of taking the Pitt Head Loop.
This itinerary can be reversed with Anchorage beach stop in the morning, then return to Observation Beach for your Adele Island Birdsong & Seals kayak trip.
